I think Acts 19:15 is one of the most interesting verses in the Bible. As someone, who was trying to invoke Paul’s ability to perform miracles, makes an attempt to cast out a demon, the demon comes back with the ultimate “put you in your place.” The demon says, “yeah, I know Jesus and I’ve heard of Paul, but who are you?” or “and just who do you think you are?” And then the demon gives the man a severe beating.
I’m not condoning demons violence, I promise, but the scene is pretty effective.
When it really counts, we can’t fake faithfulness. I believe that to be true across the board. I hope that speaks to someone today.
