
Like any good startup, the early apostles were constantly having to figure things out, bob and weave, shift to make things work. I’m particularly amazed by their reaction in our Friday reading. A group said, “hey, you’re missing the mark”. They didn’t get defensive. They didn’t point out the flaws in their accusers. They fixed the problem.
There is a definite lesson to be learned there. I know I need to hear it. Do you?
January 18: Acts 4:32-37

January 20: Acts 5:12-16

- Miracles were the signs that caused people to believe in God’s power and ultimately follow him.
- Word spread about what Peter and the other believers could do so people began to seek them out for miracles.

January 21: Acts 5:17-42

- Though the religious authorities tried to put the believers in jail to stop their message, God freed them.
- We hear again, as we heard earlier in Acts, that the apostles were committed to following God’s direction rather than that of man.

- The original apostles discovered that they were overlooking some people who were in need so they fixed their mistake.
