I remember, as a kid, it was all too natural to invite a friend to church. If someone was spending the night on Saturday night, they would bring church clothes so they could tag along to church and Sunday school the next day. They might even score a Luby’s Luann platter out of the deal. These days, it doesn’t always feel as natural. What if they don’t like it? What if someone says something offensive? What if they’re surprised I go to church?
The final few verses of Revelation serve as a reminder that it is our job, as the church, to invite anyone and everyone to come to saving faith in Jesus. One of the best ways I know to do that is to invite them to church where they can see salvation at work.
