This week we have several psalms that focus on the cause and effect of our relationship with God. God, you did _________ so I’m going to praise you. This is something I’ve been working on for a while with my two year old and it’s an easy thing to start with your kids too.
Georgia and I pray together every night before bed. I pray a little and then ask her what she’d like to thank God for. Sometimes she says she just wants mommy to pray, so we go with that. Other nights, we spend quite a bit of time thanking God for things ranging from circles to noses and daddy to dinosaurs. I know it sounds simple, but I believe she is learning that it matters that we give God thanks and praise, just like they did in the Psalms.
June 22: Psalm 71
