Yesterday I sat with my kids in big church listening to the Justin Wren sermon. Despite the fact that they were playing with wiki stix the whole time they were definitely listening. And, as you can imagine they had a lot of questions. So we talked a lot about how different people live. We also talked about what we can do once school starts and maybe there are new kids in our class.
It’s great when life gives you these opportunities and opens natural discussion. And on Friday this week I hope they bring it up again after our Bible reading. They’ve been curious what it means to be like Jesus. They think it’s too hard. But between the last sermon and our reading (specifically on Friday) I hope they can understand at least one part. Jesus tried to be a friend to people who other people wouldn’t be friends with. How can we be friendly towards someone who is excluded?
