I’m writing this after having been up from 3-5am and then back up at 6am with my teething one-and-a-half-year-old. She is now peacefully napping – which will certainly throw off her afternoon nap, which I really need her to take.
God is good.
I’ve recently talked with several parents who have either received or are anticipating receiving diagnoses for their children that will make the life of their family more difficult. I’ve talked with them as they’ve cried and all I can think is:
God is good.
In a couple of weeks we’ll have 300 kids come through our doors every day for a week for VBS. The basic, overall message is, no matter what your current circumstances are:
God is good.
I realize my first two examples are in no way related and one far outweighs the other in severity, but I also know that we sometimes lose perspective on things like teething and daily frustrations and can’t see past the end of our noses to see the ultimate truth that:
God is good.
Other times, things are actually, truly, really hard and we’ve already been bogged down by the smaller stuff and it’s hard to come up for air and see:
God is good.
If you’re having trouble believing this for any reason today, I’d love to talk with you. Shoot me an email. Find me on Sunday. Let’s set up a time to talk. Basically, the reason I’m convinced of this overarching truth is because I’ve been through very difficult times, made it to the other side, and can look back and see where God was walking alongside me, providing for, and caring for me. I hope you can hear this truth in a new way today.
God is good.
Thanks for the reminder. God is good.
